This last Monday and Tuesday I did two track days at Laguna Seca with over four hours of track time. What a blast! and what a beautiful track! I also camped at the track both nights which made the experience that much better (and cheaper).
Although I don't have any photos of my car on the track while driving, I was able to talk the guy who locks the gates into letting me and a friend take our cars onto the track for some photograhy. We had about 20 minutes so I was not able to take as long as I would have liked to set up the shots. This is what I got though...
These are straight out of the camera with only color correction, no Photoshop retouching yet.

Now, this is an interesting photo. This was taken late at night with a half moon behind me giving just a hint of light to the scene. I took a 20 minute exposure to get enough of the light from the moon on the foreground and so that the stars in the background would leave some nice streaks. There is no light in this scene other than moonlight and starlight. And again, this shot is straight out of the camera with only basic color corrections.

Would love some track time at Laguna, such a great track. Maybe next year....
Just wondering though: Was your moonlit shot really 20 minutes or did you mean to say 20 seconds?
