Default Opinions on track wheels

I want superleggeras as a track/autoX wheel. Should I get 17x7.5 or 18x8 and why? I thinking 17" for cost, but would the 18" offer a stronger sidewall for hard conering? Any other lite/cheap options out there?

Default I really liked my 17X8.5 SSR Competitions...only 14 lbs each

And no..they didn't bend.

Default They bend on the Turner Motorsport cars

Will's gone through like 30 something wheels that he had to pay for. These aren't the ones that have been in a crash either.

Needless to say, he's not too thrilled about that.

Default Mine are out of round too, and TireRack/SSR refuses to acknowledge the weakness

I had a discussion with Eddie and Luke and the situation is that I have to pony up money and buy another set of wheels. They are offering it at their cost. It's not much of a consolation.

I heard about the Turner Motorsport thing too, and it's sad that a wheel specifically geared towards track DE/racing/autocross crowd isn't strong to begin with.

I'm fairly annoyed.

Is the superleggera better, 17" is ideal size for track?

Default BBS RC?

Comparatively light and strong (not as light as an SSR but I don't hear of many bending). I would go with 17" due to tire cost.

Default For autocross, you probably want 15" and low profile R tires

this combination gives you lowest polar and best gear ratio.
