Really trying to understanding what my tires are telling me. . .
When you all get off the track, what do you look for in your tires to make sure they are wearing properly (thus inflated properly)?
Beyond the basics, which I understand to be: an overinflated tire will wear more towards the 'center' of the contact patch and an underflated tire will tend to wear the outsides more. A properly inflated tire should wear in the contact patch area evenly.
I understand that there are many variables to consider here. But with all (other) things being held constant, 1) Is my current understanding of tire wear correct, and 2) What do I look for to better understand what my tires are telling me?
FYI: at VIR (and Summit Point last fall)I ran 42/40 PSI in my 1.8T and didn't notice any uneven wear.
Thanks in advance.
Take care,

The guru at VIR mentioned looking for "rollover" on the sidewalls, but ...
... I never managed to get further advice on the subject. I assumed he meant that during hard cornering, you'll scuff the sidewalls near the tread if your tires are underinflated. But how much is okay, and how much is too much?
