Default So who still thinks Hamilton is a Wunderkind?

The last couple F1 seasons have seen the media (often in the UK) fall over themselves to anoint Lewis Hamilton as an all-time great, if not a second coming gof Senna.

Judging from comments across some forums, seems many people bought into the hype. Do people still feel the same way about him (positively or negatively), or has anyone changed his/her mind?

He is driving a crappy car very well this year. Obviously he's the real deal.

I don't know if he will become one of the all time greats but at the moment in F1 he is one of the better ones if not the best.

He is certainly one of the gutsiest and most entertaining drivers on track.

The same could have been said of many drivers, like Alonso last year or when HH Frentzen took a Jordan to 3rd place in the drivers championship. How do you differentiate?

Fair enough, but that's not saying much, is it? In the post-Shumacher-Hakkinen era, the only driver to win more than one championship has been Alonso. Kimi was always considered quick but since 08 his motivation has been questioned. Massa had a superb 08 but is always under-rated (by most people).

Everyone else is pretty much an unknown, including all the Kubicas and Vettels of the world. Who knows how many of the 20+ drivers could look like champions if the right ride came along? Is a Button better than a Glock or a Trulli (or a Hamilton)?

Right now I like Vettel a lot. I actually like Button too and I think like Villeneuve he got screwed by the car and maybe now he can show his talent. Same thing with Rubbens I think he is a very good driverbut perhaps not a team #1 driver.

Alonso for sure as to be one of the better ones.

My gut feeling says the better drivers at the moment are: Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel.

Then you will be with today's qualifying at Shanghai.

However I think the front three are bluffing. They have by far the lightest cars on the grid.

I still think the Brawns are the machine at this time and with this weekends numbers posted by Lewis in the modified McLaren it is very promising.

It's still a promising result for Vettel. We will know the truth in about three hours.
