Uh oh.
Guess who now has a NASA provisional race license?
It was a great weekend out at Summit Point. We ran the Jefferson circuit for 2 days. First day, was instructor training (didn't get mine cuz I was busy on track) and race license evaluation. My observer/instructor was someone that I know, Payton Wilson, and totally trust on track. He's been running in SCCA ITA for a few years now.
Did excersizes at full speed, like lead-follow, and then dialed it back a notch and performed stuff like dive bomb under brakes. This one was FUN! They were (much) closer than NASA advanced driving school passing under brakes, which in reality is quite tame and safe the way it's done. For another drill we drove side by side the entire track. Also learned how to defend the line w/o giving up much speed, which consists partly of growing a new set. Last drill was driving as fast as you possibly can using only one lane all the way around (this one felt like an auto-x and was not too hard). Tons of tracktime. Just silly amounts actually.
Today went very well too. It was a driving school with a time trial at the end. Payton co-drove my car since his '75 911's fuel system gave up. Bastard drove faster than me :P 1:00.05 vs my 1:00.40 on a 1.1 mile circuit. I'm actually quite pleased with my time. I knew I was going to be beat the minute I let him co-drive. The only cars that beat us in raw time were a 2-3 very well driven vettes. Yahoo! PAX slaughtered our team, especially my car. .87waytohightoremember. Still, I'm glad I ran the time trial, so I have a real time on the car, and can kinda figure out how much more the car has to give on that course.
all pooped out,
Warren

Here's the time trial results. PAX can kiss my *** :P
Bah, got voted into E prepared. The only power mods I have on the car are an AEM intake, and a radiator imprint on my stock exhaust manifold... Oh yeah, and the stock exhaust is also dented up from the accident.
Oh well. Vette club in our region is no joke. There are some very fast auto-xers from their club.
