There are still spots left for the June 17-18th Virginia City Hill Climb Quattro club event.
If you have any interest at all, please read on.
You do not have to be a "racer", or have a highly modified car to participate! All that is required is a sound car, and most important a sound mind behind the wheel.
While some of the racers may not appreciate my comments, and don't want "slower" drivers on the mountain, just enjoying the experience, but this event is in serious jeopardy because it has been portrayed as "dangerous" and only for "expert" drivers for years.
BULL****!
I am more interested in maintaining this event than making sure the “racers” get as many runs as possible to try to "break the record".
Don't get me wrong, this is not a drivers school, but one of the few remaining public roads in the U.S. where for a weekend, you can drive as fast as YOU want in a controlled environment, 5.2 miles up a twisty mountain road.
Yes, there are rock walls, and steep drop offs, but most of you drive within 3 feet of SOLID CONCRETE and 100+ foot drop offs at 70MPH, every day! These are called highway dividers/tunnels, and overpasses/bridges.
IMHO, anyone who has participated in a drivers school or two and can CONSISTANTLY drive within both their personal and car's abilities should enjoy this event. I know I did last year, and will again this year. Come and join me and experience something that few people ever get the chance to, and support this great event.
If you want more information, please contact the Quattro Club at 952-474-8628, or send me an e-mail and I'll answer any questions I can.
