Default What's a good PC Game wheel/pedal setup? Logitech Momo?

Seems like the PC market is just Logitech and Microsoft.

Default Perhaps this? I'm hoping so as it's on x-mas list. :-)

Default What's your dollar point? (56k warning)

The Logitech G25 is a good entry price unit, but there are some really nice high end units out there.

Like the <a href="http://ecci6000.com/consumerhome.htm" target="_blank">ECCI</a>

No force feeback on the ECCI but so what, most games get it so wrong anyway.

Default I have the one bundled with the Sony PS2

Logitech Force Pro or something, works great. I'm currently addicted to GTR2 and mixing it with a friend last night in the 911 GTR3 RSR for seven laps as we were pretty equal in skills.

I've been debating now on finding one with a clutch to make it a little bit more challenging/interesting, like that G25

Default I got the Logitech Momo edition. It's going to take some adjusting.

I thought the joystick was limiting my ability to be smooth because the entire steering range was captured in a 1-inch wiggle of the stick; and holding a particular line through a turn was difficult.

I thought the wheels would solve this, but my first several laps with the wheel have been HORRIBLE. I'm swishing all over the place, overcorrecting and steering late. The servos that work the force feedback make it hard to make quick, precise moves. I've experimented with the feedback settings, and will continue to do so.

Default My experience getting folks used to a wheel on the PS2 is....

to relax your grip. Don't fight the wheel. Does that make sense?

Default Logitech G25 is supposed to be the bomb.

It's priced similarly to military bombs as well...I think msrp is over $300.

I just picked up an xbox 360 with two of the new wireless wheels. The wheels get very high ratings and have no wires to the xbox. This works great for me as I'll be installing the wheels into a sim racing setup and I'll be playing in front of my 100" projection screen. I'll post pics of my setup when it's complete, should be outstanding.

What wheel options did you go with for the 360?

Default The 'wireless' 360 wheel.

It's made by microsoft. For me it's the best option but I suspect it might not satisfy the hardcore sim racer. Everybody I asked said if you want sim racing you have to go with a PC setup. I'm looking for something my 7yo son can enjoy so they said the 360 with these wheels is the way to go.
