They've been developing the 2009 car since early 2008.
But yeah, the engines were pretty bad. Most people say it was down 60hp to the competition.

and many of us are very excited in the knowledge that the long slumber of the off-season is nearly over. NASCAR doesn't count, been enjoying that too to whet my appetite.

Darn, can't wait to see them setting off once again; it's about time......no NASCAR here - never, but plenty of ice racing and winter driving/rally practice :-)
If Ross B can pull it off and kick some McLaren, Bimmer or Ferrari butt that would be awesome just for the fun of it.....gotta love the underdog :-)

Ross has plenty of experience with the Red team so he knows the key elements of producing a fast out-of-box car. I just hope it doesn't turn into another "Stepneygate" :-)
No worries about Kimi, he'll do just fine if can keep the same spirit like he did during his Rally fun runs.
Somehow, the German Fleet car maker seems a bit slow lately, perhaps a good time for BMW Sauber to overcome the last hurdle and let their investment finally pay off; but then, there is Vettel & Co. on the verge of throwing their own wrench into the game - should be a fun season, no matter what :-)

If I presume that Kimi would bow out after another WDC, this is the year to do it with McL apparently having one of their cyclic downers in preseason, which typically indicates an off year. Fine with me. I always favored them from the start, through Senna, (not Prost) and whn they had Finnish drivers. I think we may see the emergence of other teams and a possible banner year, great for the sport. Bring it on!
