Default 60 Foot License Plate Visibility BS

Just an fyi, I got a newsletter today from my buddies at the National Motorists Assoc, an advocacy watchdog group that monitors BS police tactics, tolls, and legislation etc..

MA has added new Inspection rules;

1. Child passenger restraint check by a now "certified tech" lol

2. Aftermarket lighting check for federal compliance (DOT?)

3. License plate is visible from 60 ft away ( inspector runs across lot??) lol

4. MASS... AND "SPIRIT OF AMERICA" cannot be obtructed on your plate. This is the "safety" part lol

ALSO

MA RMV no longer sends license expiration reminders to save money, so u gotta renew 7 days before.

If you move, you need to make the label yourself and stick it on license...

MA now has "slow down move over' law to protect cops and tow operators in breakdown lanes. So enforcement of left lane blockers is still of no importance to them

Still no red light cams in MA, just toll booths have the cams

http://www.motorists.org</a

Default Almost anyone can see a plate from well over 60 feet away.

...or did they mean "legible"?

Default Kiss your green plate goodbye this year too, can't get a sticker with one anymore.

*probably old news....but i was at the RMV about a month ago and there were 10-15 people in there with their green plates complaining about not getting a sticker.

Default Not totally true - if your green plate is still in good condition you can keep it. If it is

faded, or illegible, then your gonna be heading to the RMV.

Default this green plate scam thread

I bet you could take some high quality green metallic paint and touch up a green plate, ey??

If Governor Deval had a brain, he would commission a RMV "front only" plate for car enthusiasts who would pay a lot extra for his broke down govt and even submit to background checks etc

Default It appears that neither cops nor RMV peeps know the laws

I've read about lots of people being told bogus info re green tags by cops and RMV employees.

What's stunning is the RMV issued a statement saying the public is misinformed. Uh...who has been giving out the info??? Did someone say RMV employees and cops???? It's the publics fault???

This one bugs me personally because a cop tried to bust my chops about a green plate and threatened to ticket me. (uh...for what???)

I got no ticket and still have my plate. I'm sure Kojak still has his job and continues to be ill informed on the laws he's supposed to enforce.

Updated; decorative plate frames will confuse FasT Lane cameras, since they will not be able to see if your plate says "commercial" on it
