Any tips for talking to a court magistrate about a speeding ticket?

It was a huge black guy representing the court. He said he didn't have the "authority" to waive the points, and that I'd have to talk to the judge if I wanted a trial. I'm paying the fine and taking the points, as I don't really have a choice. So much for step 13...

Dress appropriately. Mention that you took off work because you fell that you are right and cannot afford the points on the insurance. Try to find abnother way to mention that you work for a living.

I was under the impression that it could have been done yesterday. Regardless, they brought up the fact that I was doing 70 in a 45, so I didn't want to push the matter. If I had been a legit 10-over, then I may have pursued it further. But I'm happy with the 10-over and $100 fine.
Got another one for a red light in Harvard Sq over Xmas that I've got a legit case against, but I'll save that one for another time...
