Default Heh, I'm not coming down with a check, but I'd put a deposit down.

I can't make myself buy a car without driving it. I know plenty of people have purchased without ever seeing or driving, but I can't do it.

Default Why not look for an Allroad. 2.7T and I think they are available in a 6MT.

The 6MT part is probably pretty rare, but the 2.7T will definitely give you better mileage. I consistently average better than 22 MPG (25 on trips).

I also think you'll find the Allroad considerably more fun than the V70R.

Good luck!

Default Just on paper.....

AR: 250HP and 4200lbs (16.8lbs/HP)
V70R: 300HP and 3650lbs (12.1lbs/HP)

Advantage: V70R by a margin of almost 40%

Neither one is a go-kart-like sportscar, but I found the V70R to be considerably more fun than the Allroad.

Default I stand corrected...

Did not know the V70R was such a beast.

That said, I'd still prefer the Allroad (AudiGuy at heart).

Default I hear you...I really wanted a C5 S6.

Also considered the Allroad and A6 2.7T.

Need a wagon for sure, so the 2.7T is out. Also considered a B6 S4 avant, and the B5 S4 Avant.

The V70R seems like the best compromise between the allroads, and the S4s. I can buy a newer model, with much better fuel economy, and decent performance. I can also do the same mods I could to the S4s/S6 (anti-sway, exhaust, chip).

Default Definitely sounds like you've done your homework

Good luck!

(I'm out on the 2nd set of eyes - wouldn't know what to look for)

Default Whatever I end up with, it'll be a lot different than my CQ.

Great car...but it's time for something else.
