Default In most scenerios the insurance company doesn't regularly...

check your record if things are status quo. Meaning no change in policy, not adding or deleating a car or worst of all you don't switch carriers. This is not guarenteed. My wife had so many tickets she got a warning from DMV that if she got one more she would have to go to driver re-education. Our insurance rates never changed. Good Luck

Default Send it in non guilty and go to court for it, they will drop it down a lot...

As for going to jail, techinically everything over 90 is considered wreckless driving and most of the time the person is arrested or summoned to court. Paying for the ticket is accepting that u did it and it is easier for the insurance company to find out than if you have the ticket dropped down. Sometimes they will even drop the whole ticket. Send it in non guilty.

Default Re: i think you can donate the fine to a local charity and it won't show up...

...my dad got bagged on I84 and that's what he did. Not sure on the specifics, I'll ask him.

Default Your dad cut a deal.

If you plead not guilty and go to court, you will meet with the State's Attorney prior to going into the court room. The SA might offer a deal (reduced charge, donate to charity in exchange for noly, etc.) After the meeting, you enter your plea officially. If you did not cut a deal and still want to plead not guilty, you will be assigned a date to return.

Default Re: That's exactly what he did. Cop had him dead to rights, so...

...it was cheaper to donate the $250 bucks to a local charaty then to keep taking off work (losing pay) for court dates with the fear of eventually losing and paying a sur-charge on his insurance for the next couple of years.
