Default I honestly don't think a front plate looks that bad on an Audi.....

or any blunt front-end car. Try a Porsche or a Vette. That really looks out of place. Just paint your license plate frame and plate mount to match the car. It will nicely integrate the plate into the front of the car. I did this on my old S4, on my Nissan 350Z, and my current RS4. Sure, no plate looks better, but this at least makes it tolerable without all the legal hassles.

Default Re: My father transfered his onto his new Caymen S so part two of what

I wouldn't call it a bunch of bull.

NH went through this a while ago, partly to get a front plate on cars, but mostly to force new plates since the older plates lose their reflectivity, making it much harder for the cops to read, especially at night.

At 23 years old, my green plate is pretty ratty, and was last transferred back in '01 onto my A4.

Now anytime I go cross the border(to Tremblant), I have to spell out the numbers on it since both Canada and US custom's plate "frame grabber" can't read a few of the letter/numbers, even in daylight with flash...

Anyone know where I can get that green reflective paint so I can rehab my plate?

I just run no front plate. Never a problem. My car's a TOTAL sleeper though.

Isn't it a 30-day limited permit?

Default I think Tyler meant the part about not being able to transfer it to a new vehicle

was bull. If his father did it then it must be. I wouldn't be surprised if that lady hadn't opened the MA registry regulations since they had brown plates.

And as for rehab on the plate, I wish I knew where to find a white reflective paint that would match the white background on the green plates. It's not as bright as the white on the new plates, so you'd probably stick out to an officer if you used the wrong shade. I wouldn't think the green would be difficult to find, but I haven't searched for it.
