Default I went farther than what I posted.. I told the guy, no mods have been done to any wiring.

he says "yeah, well.. we'll be looking into it... and just to let you know, if we find anything... your warranty won't cover it." Mind you he said it in a snide way.

Default Wow, these are the kind of situations I get scared of.

My dealer not covering any problems with my S4. Jesus ming, this sounds like the kinda BS that Bernardi would pull, although I know you wouldnt bring your S to that god awful place. Good luck man, let the *** try to charge you $$$$$ and then get him fired for being a *****.

Default Speaking of cowl drains...

This was posted several days ago to the urS-car list (in reference to someone elses wet carpet):

"Yes poke the cowl drain rubber grommet out of the car.I am 100% sure that is where it came from and it will as someone else said go to the low spot.

I've taken the drain out of past 5KTQs, my '91 200 and my S4. Also my wifes '98 A4 and my daughters '02 A4. I called my brother and told him how to get it out of his 2.7tt A6 and his friends 4.2 A6.

With 9 days of rain and crud in the cowl, and we have it, will never drain as fast as it rains.

BTW, I work at an Audi dealer and this isn't news to us.

Everyone do it. There is no point in controlling the rate that water leaves the cowl is there?"

Default My neighbour had the same problem. Here is his result ...

During a heavy storm water built up in the passenger side of his A6, fried the ECU. Due to leaf buildup blocking the drain in the air intake area in front of the windscreen (he is always parked under trees). Cost to repair was about $2000 and the dealer wanted him to pay it all because "he should have cleaned the leaves out". He made the argument, to both the dealer and AoA, that there is NOTHING in the A6 manual regarding keeping this area clean or of potential problems due to this sort of leaf blockage. After some discussion it was agreed to split the bill three ways, with him, the dealer and AoA each paying one third. Maybe you will need to take the same approach. As your car is still under warranty I would push strongly (to AoA if the dealer is unwilling) to have it all covered.
