I think you konw the answer to that. I'm not sure why everyone is beating Zwoobah up over this...

Dealers are in business to make money. They have huge overhead. It's not fair to murder them just because they are more expensive.

Most non-dealer shops can afford to charge less for parts and labor because often they have little to no overhead or parts stocks, small shops which cost very little to operate.

And, I guarantee that if you show up with parts from another source, they will either refuse to use them, or charge more for labor, as ALL shops do. I don't know of a single shop that lets you show up with parts from somewhere else and doesn't inflate the labor rate to compensate for their lost income.

not trying to beat anyone up. I don't begrudge anyone their profit, but 100%+ markups are ridiculous

WAW! Great discussion guys! Thanks! So, other than Yarrowsport....

...no other indy recommendations? I was wondering if anyone has experience with International Motor Group (Imgcars.com) service in East Greenwich on Post Rd. BTW, just yesterday I noticed a tiny oil drop on my driveway. It looks there is a small oil bleed over the oil pan. So I need to take it sooner then later I guess. Thank you all...great forum..
