...the wiring harness and the various motors etc. under the seat. You probably don't even need to remove the seat from the car, but release the two bolts in front under the rectangular cap and tilt the seat back to get under the seat for wiring and motors.

part #14 in the picture below

Removing the seatbacks is a PITA, and in the cold weather, very easy to break a clip. Make sure if the dealership does the repair that they do not beark any of those clips (i.e. check how secure the seatback is when you get the car back before you drive away!).
Good luck!

Looking for help! I have the same issue with my 2020 Q3. I initially thought the problem was with the driver's seat but the passenger seat has the same problem. sometimes, the electric tilt does not work at all, and on occasion, you can tilt the seat forward, but not backwards, and other times, the seat can be tilted backwards, but not forwards. The dealership fixed it once, said, there was some dirt. it worked for two days, and then went back to not working. The Q3 has only 5000 km, so its like new, no dirt anywhere. the seat moves forward and back, the seat bottom cushion functions work perfectly. the electric lumbar also works great.
