Can anyone recommend any winter driving schools near Boston?
I know of the NAAClub one in NH

but I'd prefer not to have to travel that far, especially in mid-winter.

Possibly. It struck me that having it at a resort was a way of attracting people to go.
Boston gets lots of snow and regular sub-freezing weather in winter. I wondered if there was somewhere closer.

The problem is that Boston doesn't reliably maintain ground cover for very long
and given the time required to plan a winter school, you can't know that on day X there will be adequate snow cover at location Y.
I will tell you, it's worth the drive up to NH :-)

I know it's a nice neck of the woods up there and would be a good weekend.
It's just that it doesn't work for me (young family + job). If there's nothing closer then no problems, I'll wait until there is.

PS I agree that you can't rely upon there being fresh snow around Boston in Jan/Feb, but almost certainly there'd be snow/ice on a road if it was unploughed and unsalted. That's the state of small roads near me, at least.
