Default similar thing happened to my sister - insurance wouldn't cover it because they said...
she "drove" into it! Come on! The ice chunk flew off a semi going the opposite way on the highway. They even asked her if she got the license number off the truck!

WTF...what about a rock kicked up? You "drove into it" as well, same idea but they'll cover it.

Default I think the reasoning there is that the rock came off the road and the ice came of a vehicle
so in the eyes of the insurance company the rock was an unavoidable road hazard (covered) and the other was debris off another vehicle and in that case the driver of the other vehicle would be responsible. thats probably why they wanted the plate number.

What German electrical gremlins? I've don't recall any common sunroof issues.

There was a post and a picture on the NY forum entire drivers side windshield was crushed.
