All I've read about Brian's Garage for the last year has been negative. Same comments as you just made, that you basically had to justify why you were changing your car from stock.
WTF? If I want the shop to do X to my car, and am willing to pay whatever it costs for the job, then they should just do it.

i have already decided to go bavarian performance which i know is a very good place to go. very professional cause my bro goes there all the time for his 330. excellent service even though they do mostly bmws. 85 an hour with ride height adjustment included and 125 for alignment.

Possible. There is a huge markup on parts. The shop did the wrong thing. When I worked at a BMW shop we automatically charged extra for aftermarket "bolt-on" exhausts because they were never bolt-on and often required a lot of extra time to get them to fit right. As I said, the shop was wrong but think about catching a big fish and asking a restaurant to clean and cook it.

Granted, I've been bringing VWs there rather than Audis.
The quality of the work has always been excellent. I'd say "Do Not Go There" and "F that place" are pretty extreme attitudes for one bad experience. Sounds like they did **** up on the time, (and I'd be **** as well), but, would you have been more pissed if they tried to get them on, they didn't fit, and they just forced them in wrong?

for stuff like that my shop just charges actual time instead of 'the book' which seems to work ...
well for both sides. they make sure i have all documentation and charge their time if they need to do additional research.

prob not going to say do not go there, really pissed at the time but the fact that tein and eurocode told me that they do fit and them tellin me that they dont and "go call them again" and lying to me that they tried to put them on when they didnt isnt very professional. better time management is a good suggestion cause they definitly mess up my time today.

My economics go like this..
Charge me what you want, just get the job done right, I pay for results and your profitability is not my concern.
