Default got a free car on Boston craigslist.

Yes, it's the car you've all been dreaming of -- a 1964 Dodge Dart, with a straight six, pushbutton 3-speed automatic and 195/70/13 tires. We're driving it from NYC to New Orleans for charity at the end of may.

Just had it checked out by the equally Dart-obsessed guys at the Good News Garage around the corner from my place in Cambridge (The Car Talk guys) -- who gave it a clean bill of health, aside from the fact that the hood is literally rusting off.

Default yup, that's more accurate

though in my defense, the slant 6 is a specific kind of straight 6 :-)

The Chrysler slant sixes are apparently almost indestructible.

Default Hah...Frick and Frack. Are they as quirky in person as they are on the radio?

We always try to catch their show on Sunday evenings while driving home from VT. My wife is always astounded when I can figure out 80% of caller's problems before the car guys do ;^)

What's the plan for the car when you arrive in NO? Push it into a dyke? Or leave it under I-10 with the 100s of other cars left there after Katrina blew through?
