How long does it take to drive from Stowe to Killington?
I'm planning a trip with my family up there in January.
So how is the snowboarding in Stowe versus Killington or Stratton?
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Stowe has better snow, more snow, better terrain, fewer people, and cheaper tickets
Actually, I'm not sure about the cheaper tickets. They used to be, so I'm just guessing that they still are.
I can ride Killington for free and I still won't go there.

About an hour. More if you get stuck behind a slow mover, a log or milk truck, etc.
I like both places a lot. You'll be happy at either. Because of its sheer immensity, Killington can give you more options if you know how to navigate the resort. If you do, crowds aren't an issue, except maybe in the bar/lodge, which I typically avoid (I'm a "put the boots on in the car and get to the lift" guy).
If you spend time on the most popular base are lifts and the most popular trails, the crowds can definitley suck.

it's all there if you know where to look
There probably won't be enough snow to do much glade riding until the end of January though.
It is recommended that you take someone with you who knows what he's doing though. At the very least, start off by just riding between trails and slowly work your way out to the resort boundaries.

There is a fair amount of skiing/riding in the woods at Killington right now---no rock skis needed. This is a good time to avoid crowds--most weekend warriors are shopping or doing parties, etc.
