Default Indpendent Audi Shop Recommendations

It's coming time for me to replace the timing belt/tensioner/roller/water pump/thermostat on my 30V 2.8. I was planning to do this myself but due to other commitments it looks unlikely I'll have the time. Can anyone recommend a good independent shop in the North Andover, Wakefield, or Marlboro Massachusetts areas?

I recently had some work done at Autobahn in Peabody and would recommend them. They do great work, call em and get an estimate on the TB. Not sure of pricing..

Default I've only been to KTR for performance mods but I highly recommend these guys.

Great work, friendly, reasonably priced and a real kicker of a showroom.

Default I don't doubt Autobahn is a good shop but they gave me a retarded quote for my TB service.

They wanted $2k.

Default I don't get that price. Can't imagine them taking more than 8 hrs

to do the work plus parts would bring the job to a grand at their rates. Something is wrong with that picture..

Default The quote was actually $2100, now that I look up the post...

$800 parts/$1300 labor. I had the same thing done by another indy for $1500, and that was still steep.

https://forums.audiworld.com/newengland/msgs/8629.phtml</a

Hmm 18hrs to do the tbelt. I used to do my 92 100 in less than 8 but didn't have to deal with service position. Can't imagine that would take another 10 hrs. If this included cam adjuster seals then the time might make more sense.

I'm planning on doing the Tbelt and cam adjuster seals this fall or next spring and will have a better understanding on time. I usually use my time -50% to figure what a garage would do. I'm slow..
