just got the worst service at Hamersley's Bistro tonight...
four of us went there for day 3 of my birthday weekend. from the beginning the staff just seemed a little weird. but the waiter was spotty, forgot to check back with our courses, we had to pour our own wine, forgot to order my friend's dessert- then said they were out of it, didn't comp my birthday dessert(btw everyone got a candle b/c he didn't know whose birthday it was) and basically just sucked. it was a shame because everyone i have heard talk about it has only said great things. anyone else been there?

Too bad - one of the things I've liked about the place over the years
is consistent quality and always a great experience. :-( I was there a month ago and had a fantastic meal and evening, but nothing can bring an otherwise great meal down faster than sub-par service.

*update*
my friend called and complained to the manager today and the manager was pissed to find out what happened and sent us a $300 gift certificate. hopefully the second time around will be better.

Re: The company I work for does the valet there. From what I've heard, it's gone downhill.
They comped us a main course when they made a major mistake on some detail of its' content or prep.. i forget which.
I was offered a bday dessert over at Davio's this month while making the reservation. It ended up on the bill, so essentially there was no point in asking me for a special dessert request since it wasn't even a special order souffle that requires notice. ( I was forced to go, I despise overpriced places) I asked the waitress , who we weren't familiar with, for the pizza menu, but she said the chefs like to promote the main menu and not that of the bar. So I was stuck ordering a bland 8 ounce swordfish for 35 bucks that had no side orders. Those are like 7 bucks additional WTF, it made no sense whatsoever

lol even the valet situation sucked...
we pull up in on the side of the road in the valet zone. the guy says that will be $16. we give him the keys and he like drops all his money and papers and can't seem to get the right amount of change for us... meanwhile it was raining and we are like "hurry the f up!" then when we went to get our car the front desk just handed us the keys because the valet left and the car was in the same spot we parked it at. what was the point of that!?
