moving to boston and looking for good mechanic
my 2002 A4 1.8TQ (60k mi) has been sitting idle for about two years because i've been living in nyc. but i'll be moving to boston next weekend and am looking for a good mechanic to take a look at my car and see if anything needs to be done.
i'm already anticipating a timing/accessory belt change.
can anyone recommend a trustworthy shop/mechanic for something like this? thanks.

Gerg's Repair or Central Service in Natick, Brian's Garage in Needham, Advanced Auto in Gloucester. Those will be the common ones mentioned. I prefer Greg's, he is Audi/VW only, and is pretty much the only one I trust with my car.

its advanced technologies in gloucester, not advanced auto. ive mainly used them for the big stuff i cant do myself. ive had them do a clutch and timing belt and no complaints. i had a problem with my shifter after the clutch and they took it back no problem and fixed it. even payed for the tow. also, marcs forgiegn car in wakefield is good. marc is a very cool guy who knows his stuff. youll need to call to make an appointment though since his shop is small and tends to be a bit busy.

audi mechanic
I highly recommend Advanced Technologies in Gloucester. Lee works mainly on Audi, VW, and other German cars. We have had work done on all of our cars by him and we wouldn't go anywhere else. He just finished a full K04 turbo upgrade on our A4, with new intercooler and downpipes. the car sounds and performs amazing. Their # is 978-282-5544 you won't be disappointed.

And I agree, that move^^^quoted abouve^^^ is kinda shady. Makes me very leery of using him for a such an important job.
