Default I went to the dealer for mine, if insurance is covering it there is no need to go anywhere else...

and the dealer is the only place you'll get OEM glass with the Audi stamp on it.

Default call your insurance company if you are in MA. $0 deductible, and make sure you specify...

you ONLY want OEM replacement, not aftermarket.

Default I just had mine replaced at a Settles last Friday...

I got to choose PPG glass, and it was $230 installed (no full coverage for my old car).

Default Two words... Don Cotton... Village GlassSmith...

OK, so actually that was 4 words..

He does all the work for Bernardi, so if your close to Natick just go there. For more details and references on Don, just search the forum archives.

He does excellent work.

Good Luck

Default Well...

They actually farm it out to a local contractor who comes to the dealer and installs the dealer supplied OEM glass. I remember giving the contractor my insurance info over the phone and I paid my deductible to the dealer. I brought it to the dealer for the day and they gave me a ride to and from work in a Porsche Cheyenne.

AFAIK this is the only way to get an OEM windshield.

Default Whats covered? Does there need to be a crack of a certain size?

Mine has a small bubble but is getting pretty pitted from all the highway driving.

Default all I've ever done is tell them there's a chip "right in front of my eyes" and when the sun

shines through it, it really makes it hard to see things in front of me.... In my case, this hs been true.

The approach works really well.

Glass company really doesn't care anyway, they want to change out windshields. Once you get past the insurance company, you're good to go.
