Default Buy good tires, don't go cheap

Find a good online price and then talk to Direct Tire locally for a price match.

Default I would get them from tire rack and find either one of their recommended

installers or a local installer you've used in the past. Stay away from Town Fair Tire they will rob you blind.

Default Thanks. I actually meant 'cheap' as in 'not getting reamed'. I didn't know that

Direct Tire would price match though. In the particular fitment for the Q7, I'm looking at Pirelli Scorpion Ice/Snow from TR or possibly Nokian Hakkas. The Nokians are roughly $125 more per corner, though, and it's kind of hard to justify a $500 price premium (is it?).

Default Please never use the word "cheap" and "tires" in same sentence.

They are what holds you on the road and in my opinion, the most important part of the car. However, I am a believer in buying used tires, but they have to meet some strict standards to even be considered for purchase.

Try Tirerack or even Edge Racing for some good seasonal deals.

Edgeracing.com

Don't buy from DirectTire - they'll ream you. Try John and Sons Tire in Manchester, NH.
