Oil Weight question--tried searching and found nothing...

I live in the New England area and was wondering what weight oil I should run in a 3.0. I previously owned a 1.8T and ran Mobil 1 0W-40 year round. Any advice on what I should do with my new 3.0--especially during these cold winter months? TIA

I usually run M1 15W-50 in the summer... and 10W-30 in the winter. The 10W-30 gives a really nice broad temp range, and provides good protection. It's a good oil for all conditions. I recommend 10W-30, but you should probably ask someone on the 3.0 or A4 forum. They'll know better. Generally though, you can't go wrong with any Mobil 1 oil.

I run 10/40 synthetic in the S car year 'round, but I don't drive it much in the winter.
For the Coupe (20v NA) I run 20/50 summer and 10/40 in the winter - dyno.
For the 2.8 30v in the C5's, I run 10/30 year 'round. If you run thicker oil in the 30v, you might have lifter issues that cause "multiple misfire" codes.
