I need to replace the pan on my wife's Jetta. I was hoping to do it on Friday night, but she needs to use the car about 12 hours later. How long does the "special" VW sealant take to dry? I'm assuming it's the same stuff that Audi uses.

I haven't opened the box of it to take a look, but I think it is white RTV.
I've used grey RTV a few times to seal my car's oilpan, but Carson assured me that this OEM goop was the way to go with the VW. For $10 I wasn't going to argue.

VW is not going to spec a sealant that will force a car to sit idle on the lift for more than a few minutes. The dealerships would kill them.

Now I need to figure out how to clean off the driveway. It's got clumps of kitty litter and some ugly oil stains marring it after several months of drips.
