My bad - just realized the RS4 i'm thinking of has the Ti package (on a sprint blue looks amazing)

I hear you. I went to the Gulf station at McGrath and Broadway (Somerville) and they made a mess

They did it the same way you said, and managed to scratch the glass, and smear the sticker glue on the glass and pillar. I'll never go back there again.
