meter maids are just there for revenue, they are not a part of the insurance surcharge scam racket. Meter maids can't verify the driver or license # of parking offender at the wheel on that day. It is the same as a red light camera issuing a ticket when ID of driver is unknown. ticket yes, surcharge to a known operator, no

It is not a moving violation unless it is from a police officer and its written on a MA uniform citation. Otherwise it just a plain old meter maid ticket . . . this is fact.

Yes, it is a moving violation if you are DRIVING the car with an expired inspection. The point here is that it was PARKED, and found this ticket issued by Boston. As this was issued by the City of Boston, likely part of some city ordinance, this was NOT issued as a moving violation in violation of Chapter 90 (Section whatever and so on and so forth). That can only be issued if he was stopped and caught driving the car with the expired inspection.

Makes sense to me. I got them from a police officer. Same one, in fact. Two days in a row. Evil.

Don't get 3 'moving violations' in a year, or they'll send you to driving school (and probably suspend your license). You will have to pay for the driving school, probably pay to have your license reinstated, and incur insurance surcharges.
PS: the driving school isn't the Skip/Barber performance type of driving school either...
