This is close enough to your story that it shouldn't get it's own topic, so here I go.

Was driving up to Boston from Hartford yesterday. Had a co-worker riding along with me.

Right after we pull out of the Charlton rest stop, we were talking, and I wasn't really paying attention to my speed. Needless to say, it was high. Next thing I see is a Statie zooming up behind me, no lights on though. I cut it on over into the middle lane and slow way down. He just puts his car right off of my left fender, and paces me EXACTLY for at least two miles.

Now, I kept telling myself "Don't look over, don't look over...", but he stayed there. I had to look, and I saw that he was just staring at me. We lock eyes for maybe 3 seconds (felt something like 5 minutes). If he wasn't wearing his aviator glasses, his eyes would have burned a hole right through me.

He looks straight ahead, and guns it. Gets about 75 yards ahead of me, and drops back down to the flow of traffic speed. Hits his lights. "Oh ****, here goes my holiday" runs through my mind. Lucky lucky me, he shuts them off after 4 seconds, and guns it along down the road. Just a nice little "I got you, I got you good, and you KNOW I got you. Don't do it again" type of thing.

My coworker was telling me what the Statie told you, this is my Xmas gift from the Mass State Police.

The Pike is very well staffed this week.

I hit 120 today on 495 for a short stretch. Not a trooper in sight.

Later tonight on the Pike, troopers working in pairs. I didn't dare go over 70.
