...I want to install on my front bumper instead of the ugly MA plate :P I know it is not legal, but I believe that there was a workaround if you'd lost your plate and you can get a reciept from the RMV until they issue a new plate (>3 months I've heard). Is that still valid?
Is it an option to drive with one plate in the back if you get a vanity plate?

The law is that you must have a plate front and rear, and they can be strict.
There may be a workaround if you lost your plate, but it will still give them a reason to pull you over if they want to.

we went over it a couple weeks ago... Its fornt and rear but...
The way the language was written it means the FRONT of the car not just visible form the front (i.e. on your dashboard in the front window.)
I think it was BostonDriver? possibly that had it all sorted out and had deciphered the language properly.
But yea front and rear. kinda lame but i still just rock the euro plate.

Yeah, if you still have a green plate. Otherwise your SOL.
Even if you get a note from the DMV saying that you only need or only have one plate, the fuzz still will need to pull you over to find that out. PITA
