So... after arguing with State Farm to try to get them to pay Don Cotton's $546.54 full windshield install job i got this in response:
"In your car policy booklet, page 18 under Settlement of Loss for Comprehensive and Collision coverages, it states that State Farm will pay the amount equal to 2 agreeing appraisals. Since we have more than
2 repair facilities that have agreed to our pricing, we will pay the amount of those appraisals (which is the same that I described to you below). Morong does not get our discount because they don't do the volume with Portland Glass that State Farm does which is why we pay $25 less."
So i guess at this point, no Don Cotton for me, im just going to have Morong and Portland Glass deal with it who say its only $125 to install it. Not much i can do i guess. Wanted to have Don do the work but it doesnt make any sense.

and portland glass can do it for $100 if i go to them directly. So if you add up the $125 + $251 for glass youre at about $375 all said and done of which i only pay my $100 deduct. So basically state farm looks at this and says, this Don Cotton guy a rip off and we arent paying for it. So annoying.

he doesnt like dealing with state farm because it take him longer to get his money. im just not willing to fork over $550 to him and then have to argue myself with state farm to get a couple hundred back. Its a windshield for F's sake. Portland glass has done hundred of them and they gaurentee the work so i cant go wrong for $100.

hindsight says, you would've had full glass coverage. if you have any incidents here and they want to screw you, it might be possible, because you live and work in MA.

but good luck with the install. on a side note just because a dealership or shop recommends a certain place does not always mean you will get a great install. companies will give kickbacks for referals. keep in mind I have no idea about morong I have never dealt with them at all in biz or personal
