Default Ticket on the Mass Pike... Is it worth fighting?

Saturday AM, eastbound just after the I 290 exit, on the downhill (duh!) He said I was doing 92 (in a 65). the "LIDAR" box is checked, but the "ESTIMATED" box is also checked.

I really wasn't paying attention but did not intend to be going 90! I had only moved into the left lane to get by some people who were being annoying.

Couldn't find my registration right away, which annoyed the officer.

$270 friggin dollars. I'm sure a judge does not want to listen to another whiny speeder. I'm from CT. Is it worth it to request a hearing? Where would I have to go?

Default You'll have to visit MA 2x!

Once to play visit to Magistrate...which can downgrade the amount of the offense. If you choose to continue fighting, you will have to come back.

Is it worth it for you? You have to decide.

Default stay under 80 between those two exits(290 + 146 East bound)..that is one of their new favorite spots

I have been hit with laser there 2x in the last 2 weeks. I fight all of my tickets, but considering the fact that you will have to come to MA twice as mentioned my nene, and that the ticket won't be reported to CT, I would definitly think about just paying it and being done with it

Default Now you tell me! :-) I actually had been keeping it under 80, even under 75...

...all morning. I had my "eagle eyes" on and had spotted 2 CT troopers in plenty of time to check my speedometer.

Like I said, I was just getting away from a couple of cars that were driving oddly & I picked up too much speed. Had I been looking way ahead, I might have seen him 1st. That is a "good" spot - for the troopers!

The sick thing is that I was on my way to NH had debated about taking I290. Had I taken 290, I would have avoided that trap.

Default Worth fighting if....

it will affect your insurance...if not...then I'd say no.

I have fought tix in MA before. Best part..if the cop does not show up...dismissed!!!

If the cop is older IMHO there is a better chance he won't show. The time I went it seemed to be all younger cops that showed. Of course it did not hurt that my court date was the Friday before Memorial day weekend ;-)

Default i'm pretty sure State Troopers get paid to be in court, while locals don't...

so you have a much better chance of getting off because of a no show with a local cop then with a MA State Trooper.

Default Brimfield court=PASS , while locals don't...

Nasty court, little chance you can win... That part of the state has the Pike rigged up like they do the river in the film "Deliverance"

Default 290//Vanletine One

If you took 290, you'd have hit the 2 or 3 other traps that they have set up just after LAke Quinsig and in Shrewsbury, and if you went 495, THOSE bastards are crafty.

Don't feel like you missed out on anything.

P.S. Get a V-1. It won't locte a laser until it fires, but you may detect someone else getting hit before you.
