Was wondering if anyone has done it yet? Got tired of waiting for APR to come out with something for the RS4. DTM in NH will now be a Unitronic distributer and figured I would give it a shot and having it done next week

I would be more worried if I were doing this to a turbo car, The gains on an na engine are not that big and i think the RS4 parts can more than handle it. Only thing I have to be careful of is not shifting past 8,200 red line

For example, if my coolant temperature sensor were to fail, they would have to replace it if my warranty calls for it. So the vast majority of the warranty will still be in valid if they were for some reason to check.
It was a bigger issue for something like a b5 s4 (or bmw 335) because tuning definitely played a role in the life of the turbos and with the placement of those turbos, it's not cheap.
With that said, for an rs4 it might be wise to stick with stock for most because most people never really need the additional power and how much is there to gain anyway?

They could not claim that a bad wheel bearing resulted from the chip.
With a chip, essentially everything inside of the engine bay has its warranty voided. The rest of the car is fine.

Also the complete exhaust system including cats. Brakes/ABS are also at risk because those are used for traction control and EDL, and would be adversely affected by an increase in engine output.
So, these are all items which could have to be replaced on your dollar. Realistically, they'd all be warrantied with no problems since it's not like the chip adds anything big like 60HP. That said, the dealer is well within their rights to deny warranty coverage on all of those items should they find that the car is chipped.
