Default Why do dealer part prices vary so much?

And Wagner seems to be the most expensive by far! I wanted to order a clutch switch which people tell me costs $7 and wagner wanted $44. What the hell gives?

Default Don't bother with Herb Chambers either, 10-15% ABOVE Audi published pricing !

When I asked about it I was told it was an "automatic" increase when they bought the dealership?
I use Carson at Riverside when not in a big rush, saves a lot of $$ and ships pretty quick.

Riverside Audi Parts online linky

I should add that I am happy with their quality of service, just not the parts pricing

Bernardi is the same way. They charge over list price for parts

Default Dealers, regardless of their affiliation with a manufacturer, are independent businesses. They can

charge what they want for parts/service, and some are more greedy than others.

That said, why don't you order online from somewhere like genuinevwaudiparts.com rather than get it at a dealer?

Default That is a horrible analogy. A better analogy would be: If two restaurants serve the same exact

same quality of steak or lobster with comparable service/atmosphere/etc, but one charges a LOT more, would you go the cheaper one? All else equal (just like you're getting the exact same part regardless of which dealership you purchase from), of course you would.
