Almost sounds like a clever personal ad...

Default Too much cross shopping potential (warning, slow picture loading).

Expect R36 in 2007. S3 around the same time.

Here's an impression of the R36:

Default Awesome! R36 could/should be powerful enough to cancel out the need for an s3 hatch. The current

r32 doesn't do that for me though.

Default Hence the R36 in 3 door and S3 in 5 door........ one of each flavour means

less cross-shopping. That means fewer confused customers, which in turn mean more sales of whatever drew the customer in in the first place.

I hope the R36 looks like that. Very clean and evil.

Default Hence the confusion on my part, not knowing the R36 will exist, thinking you're confusing it with

current R32 ;-)

Default Nope. No confusion with R32. R36 based on R32, but we won't get the R32.

At least that is what a VW honcho said. Too much a niche market without it being fire breathing enough to take attention from the Japense turbo offerings. So the A3 3.2 will fill that gap for now, and then the R36 and S3 will come later.

The VR6 in 3.6 litre is shared with the new Passat.
