which I would use as a down payment on a pcar. I'm in no hurry to decide though because I haven't found the "perfect one" yet. Yeah, I gotta stop switching cars, this is becoming a costly habit of mine the past couple years.

maybe $40K since it's fairly loaded and only has 5K mi. on it. I'm in no hurry though, just taking my time finding the right Porsche, then getting the okay from the Mrs. before pulling the trigger.
I knew maintenance would be costly, so would registration. My buddy is paying nearly $1K to register his '03 996TT.

not sure if it made my decision-making easier or more difficult...lol! But at least I have time on my side to research and find the one that fits me best (i.e. color, options, etc.). Whether it takes weeks or months, I'll be patient and enjoy the S4 as long as I can.

the 997 is much more nimble and feels lighter to flick around - i think a more fun car. also, imo the interior is better on the 997.

yeah, the 996TT (my buddy has one) is super fast and a little scary as a passenger when he accelerates fast or speeds around corners. Nice to own for bragging rights though.
No hurry, just looking for the "perfect" pcar, even if it's not a TT.

We've purchased 3 Audis and 2 Porsches from them.
Let me know when you're ready, and I'll introduce you to Perry Eyges. He's an Audi/Porsche fanatic and was able to find me the cars that I wanted when I wanted them.
Good luck on the search - the hunt is half of the fun.
P.S.
Go with the manual tranny - you won't regret it.
You're wife will (eventually) like it too once she gets the hang of it. My wife drives my 997S regularly with no problems.

I tried sending an email to you, but it came back undeliverable. Anyway, I wouldn't mind showing your friend the car in person. Also, there's a 50% chance of me going to the Audi GTG in Walnut creek on 10/29.
Just send me an email if he wants to see it. I may sell it early for the right price. mcbaes72@yahoo.com
