I usually stay at one of the value priced places on Munras - but that weekend it's $159 a night!

Default I know there's a 'No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night' joke in here somehwere.

Wow. I never thought I'd see a Coltrane sig on here. Cool.

Thanks for the heads up on Monterey.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm seeing. I'll probably bite the bullet and go with what I can get.

Default Motel 6 is probably one of the cheapest

If you are mainly concerned with the expense, then there is Motel 6 (with Fremont Ave. being approx $99 for 10/18, Marina being around $67 w/o fridge or $69 with fridge, and Salinas being around $56). Definitely not fancy. Marina isn't too far from Laguna Seca, and I believe that some of the rooms have refigerators per their website. - Jim (Calif_Kid)

Default We stayed there one night in March for ACNA and there are permanent residents that live there

to sum it up - it was one lousy night - loud, noisy and we were woken up the next am with a variety of police sheriff and chp in the parking lot. SKIP

Default Try Monterey Bay Inn. Right on a nice little beach down the road from Cannery Row stuff.

Great place to stay, with a nice hot tub up on the roof overlooking the bay. I stayed there a bunch years ago when I was in CA.

Monterey Bay Inn

Default Try the monterey hostel. It's surprisingly clean & nice w/parking...

close to cannery row (3-blocks) and they have private rooms. You need to book in advance if you want the room.
