Default Anyone here with a RNS-D nav?

I finally got mine in and running, but I can't get the nav portion to work. I am wondering if anyone has a version C map disc that I can try out.

I've tried to use a DX map and the unit can't read it so I'm assumming I need a C disc. I don't want to go out and buy one only to find out it won't work either.

Help MUCH appreciated!

Default What's the part number? That will tell you for sure if it's C or D, but either way you need to make

your own hybrid disc by combining the German boot files with US map files. The US discs don't work on their own.

More instructions at navplus.us

Be aware that the newer D discs are copy protected, so there's an added twist there to making usable discs.

Let's confirm the version, first.

Default Never mind... part number is in your pictures... There's no revision letter, though.

Up until Rev D is C-Navi. Rev E+ is D-Navi.

Can you find a way to confirm the revision?

Default The lack of a Rev at all makes me think it's a very early model. That, and one of your

screen shots says the software version is dated 1998.

So your hunch that it's C-Navi might be correct. I have a disc, but you still need to convert it.

Default hmm, I'm wondering if that B on the right side of the sticker means

that it's a B version. I know it should be next to the unit model number, but that's the only guess I can make.

What kind of revisions would need to be made to the C discs? Which region do you have?

Default I think a VAG will tell me if I have a C unit

If I try to do the adaptation, the C unit will only give options 1-4 whereas the D unit will show 1-7.

Only problem is I don't have a VAG.<ul><li><a href="http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/programming.html">Adaptation</a></li></ul>

Default That, and the 'B' is on the wrong sticker. The 8D0 number is the part # and should have the suffix.

So between that and since I don't think D-Navi was around in 1998 points me to think 'C'.

You still have to combine the German boot files with the US maps. Just about all the instructions have been removed from sites due to AoA cracking down and threatening since they're technically hacks and illegal copies. I might have the instructions somewhere on my home computer, as well as a set of the boot files. I'll take a look tonight.

Default awesome, that'd be awesome!

Yeah, I remember the days the tvwiz site was independent and had all the instructions to mod the map CDs. Much to my dismay, that link is dead now.

I can't remember if he had instructions for the C unit too...if so hopefully that's what you have on your computer.

I'll be able to use a VAG tonight and see what unit I have based on what I posted earlier. I'll make sure to post up here and let you know.

Thanks so much for the help!
