Default The curb jumped out at me...

Yesterday I raked one of my wheels across on of SF's gnarly curbs. There is a good 3 inch gash where the wheel meets the rubber. I brought it down to Robert's Tires and Wheels on Harrison today and they estimated the repair to be $200-225. It seems a bit high, but being that its half the cost of buying a new rim, I'll spring for the repair.

I checked out Robert's based on a recommendation someone gave here a few months ago. It also seems like a few members like Wheel Techniques, but they are all the way in the South Bay.

Does anyone have any wheel repair experiences they could share from either of the above places or others?

Is $200 reasonable for this type of repair?

Default Rite-Way Wire & Wheel Specialists in Walnut Creek, CA is $75 for most wheels

(925) 933-4046.
They fixed a couple of AVUS wheels for me and they came out perfect.

Default 2nded. Rite Way did good work on my rims after the car wash scraped the hell out of them.

Signed up for a HAND WASH & went for luch. Came back in time to see my car coming out of the goddamm machine wash with huge scrapes on the lips of both rims on the drivers side. I was heated to say the least.

Car wash had to foot the repair bill at RiteWay because my rims were discontinued and could not be replaced (now Tireshed has old stock again BTW). Riteway fixed them up nicely in a few days.
