Do any of those stationary radars on the side of the road use X band on the 1 coming from Half Moon

Bay? I was going back up on the one tonight and I see a radar display showing my speed but my detector wasn't going off at all!?!
Then I see a cop on the road using K band. What's with that area? I haven't seen a cop on any highway using K band in a long time.
Oh, I've got a V1 and I'm pretty confident it works. The reason why I ask if the stationary radar displays on the side of the road use X band is that I've programmed that off.

Ka is the standard for CHP. Most city cops use Ka or Laser these days.
X has been disabled on my 8500 for years, as has K. You do find a lot of road side radar displays that still use K, though.

and many older detctors (two years older and then some) have a narrower coverage and will not recive the upper end of the leagle band. Newer detctors have corrected this problem.

and my radar detector went off, showing K band. It's probably the same speed thing you saw. If I remember right it's right after you make a right onto hwy 1 going south (that's if you're coming from where Barbara's Fish Trap is). I forgot that street, but it's by a marina of sorts.
Oh, what I meant by the CalTrans orange looking thing is that it looked kinda like those things they use for road construction, but has the arrows to merge left or right. Instead, it was a letter display saying something like "your speed is XX" "Please drive safe" or something like that.
