It probably depends on the time of day. I live in LG as well and all in all,
I don't think it's noisy. It can't be that noisy anyways - there's a city ordinance in Los Gatos:
Pursuant to the Noise Ordinance, the exterior noise level shall be no louder than as follows, measured from the property line:
1 PM to 10 PM - 56 decibels
10 PM to 6 AM - 51 decibels
6 AM to 1 PM - 52 decibels

single story apt/condo/house OK
I lived for six months in the El Gato Penthouse Apts on Main St in downtown LG (within rock-throwing distance to Hwy 9). My first floor apt was reasonably quiet, but the noise level was noticeably higher in the second and third floor apts, especially the apts that faced Hwy 9.
