Has anyone done a Trial by Written Declaration for a speeding ticket in Santa Clara County?

At Palo Alto Superior Court? If so, were you able to get traffic school if your trial failed? I'm still trying to figure out whether this notice on my TWD form that says "YOU MAY NOT REQUEST TRAFFIC SCHOOL AFTER TRIAL BY WRITTEN DECLARATION" is for real or just a scare tactic. Thanks.

yeah they won't allow you to have the school option if you lose. one point will make your insurance rise once they catch it. how insurance works is that they automatically assume you have, i believe it's 2 points. because you can erase up to 2pts with traffic school, therefore your insurnace assumes you have 2 pts, each point you get is added to that 2. so if you have 1pt, it's 3, 2 then it's 4, etc. My insurnace broker explained this to me when we asked him to cut my rate (i had 3 = 5..d'oh). as a result if you get lazy and just pay the fine like i did, ur insurance will go up once they catch teh point. it may take them upwards to a year, but once they do u would of wanted to take that class.
cough it up, be safe. i just got one pt taken off, i only have 2 now! w00t! anyways if i ever get 3pts again, i'll try the ticket assasign thing, i have nothing to lose =(
