Infineon Tire Wall Contact

Infineon Tire Wall Contact
For those of you at in Infineon this weekend, I'm the idiot who "kissed" the tire wall in the hairpin with my blue 997TT.
Here's the event and the results:

No bent metal, but some nasty scrapes.
Among my mistakes were:
1. I was going to fast. I stayed on the gas 0.5 secs longer than usual and was going 5-7 mph faster (per my data logger).
2. I made things worse by trying to downshift. When I put in the clutch, I knew I was toast.
3. I made things even worse by dropping clutch trying to reverse #2, but made it much worse by chirping the tires.
Lessons learned:
Turn 7 is much better place to work on entry speed and braking zones. I had similar issues twice earlier in the day, but in Turn 7, and the absence of a tire wall at the end of the straight made it more conducive to lower-cost learning.
Advice requested:
Anybody know of a good body/paint shop in the North-East Bay area (near Walnut Creek)?

997 Turbo Scrapes Hairpin wall at Infineon

Your car hauls ***...
just be careful to make sure it is pointing straight when you get on it. I heard the screech...and then saw you exiting..did you leave right after that happened? Glad you are ok.

Chris Torp..the instructor guy with the yellow C4 owns a body shop..
Has fixed a few porsche incidents that happened at Laguna. I can try to find out his info...he is not cheap..but I believe he does very good work. He is located up in the north part of the bay area somewhere.

Thanks. I will ping Paul from ACNA GGC for his contact info.
Believe it or not, most of that green gunk is on top of the paint and does buff out (I did a test spot with tar remover and polishing compound)-- and the front bump clear bra took the brunt of it. I think 90% will buff out, but I will still need a high quality spray to get it back to 100%.

It would be cool if it did buff out...maybe take it to AJ's Detailing...in San Jose.....
See what he can do with just a detail. I know..he may be too south for you.

Sorry to hear about it
I was in your run group and sitting at your dinner table (Eric, black S4 avant). I've got nothing to offer re: body shop since I'm in SoCal, but did enjoy watching your car out there. Take care.
