New Chicane after 8A eliminates the lefthand sweeper into T10 = Less Speed
And T11 is just after T10 now.
My guess is with the New Grandstand a'la NASCAR having the original T11 was too far out of view so they moved it up. And by that they needed to slow them down sooner, hence the chicane. ?
Other than that full course.
1:16 lap times!!! WTF!!??
Course was 1/4 mile shorter.

Never saw it before. Quite frankly, they've done a lot of work there....
stadium seating everywhere in addition to the grandstand. Additional exits for after race departure that work GREAT! All for NASCAR of course.
T9 & T10 w/o the chicane is always impressive. Fastest part of the course, love watching the bikes drifting through there. Not to be forgotten.....taking the ole A4 throught there. 8-)

Cars were never really made to turn right...
They should leave the Road Courses to the experts! (ChampCar, ALMS, F1).
It showed a lot when they tried to run the same course in St. Petersburg (already was known as an easy Mickey-Mouse Circuit when Champcar had it... IRL had to widen all of the turns big time so the cars could make it... and yet they were still slower than the ChampCArs were on the tighter course.
