Of course, at the bottom of the work order, it also says "THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE - Subject to conditions on reverse side of this contract." I don't want to even get into what's on the reverse side because it's all fine print in light contrast text.

The only verbal agreement I made was for them to not do anything and I would pick up the car.

ALWAYS have a new loaner (had a new A4 with 30 miles on it for my last service, returned it with 550 miles) - they wash your car. They fixed a rattle at 49xxx miles.
They're absolutely awesome. Replaced nearly every switch in the car for peeling, no questions asked.

and the only reason I went to Niello this time was because they're closer to where I currently live. In fact, they're just about 5 miles or so away.

..when Niello wouldn't. Not that they couldn't but they just wouldn't.
As much as I wanted to be able to always go to a place like Niello they just are very strict with what they're willing to help a customer with. Too bad as I am a customer/enthusiast who is looking for a long term business relationship. I understand they want/can control their business as they see fit but they seem a bit short sighted sometimes.
Even though Rector is way too far I also went to Roger once just to see and he was very impressive. Speaking of Rector, when Niello wanted $3k OVER MSRP for my car plus a $300.00 charge to have someone drive it up from Burlingame I just dealt with Rector directly. Rector offered $3k LESS than msrp without even a peep out of me. I said; yes, please.
So do any of the dealers follow the enthusiast websites at all?

outright lies and Tech's booking hours on work not done related to Brake TSB.
I'm sure all the dealers check the boards - hell Niello is an ACNA sponsor!
