Default This is not a good time to learn ski'ing ! The snow is packed and ices over-night, so it's too fast

in the morning and if you come off it will cut through clothes and any exposed skin - *hurts*. Then by midday it's part slush, and too hot for all those waterproof layers and no fun either.

Default Sierra for beginners..

They arent going to care about the terrain until they have been snowboarding at least 3 full days. Definately helmets and wrist guards. I spend every weekend in the ER taking care of broken wrists and concussions on beginners. FYI- big storm this weekend

Default Why not rent the helmets?

That's what we are doing with my GF's rugrats (5yr old twins) this weekend @ Northstar. Renting them @ Northstar. Just a thought...

my first trip borading, ended up with a concussion. My night was fairly ruined.

Default Nah..just bought them at Sportmart tonight...one was on sale..the other was $90..Yikes.

Also bought some goggles..some socks..and some wrist protectors.
