I had a clean record for 20 years (budgeted my traffic school experiences) - and the same insurance... After my multiple 280 "slow it down" meetings with the CHiPs, Allstate tried to raise my rates 65%!!! Watch your insurance next time around.
Definitely go to court and get the fee reduced. You might be able to ask for a second offence traffic school - 12 hours verses the 8 hours.
Ps- being on the road that early almost deserves a "get-out-of-this-one-free" card by itself.

The judge tells you straight up: plead no contest and you get a reduced fine and no hassle. Even after about 30 people say "no contest" gavel falls = $101, there are still people that walk up and say "guilty" ... judge reinstructs them and they change to no contest.
