Default For those that have used a letter of written declaration to fight a ticket.........

Did you have to only enter a plea and request trial by written declaration by the date sent to you by the court to pay your fine and provide proof that you attended traffic school or did you submit your defense by the date on the ticket? I've been seeing some conflicting information on the internet. It would seem that there are forms to file by the date on the ticket to request a written trial and then submit your letter by a newly assigned date. I just want to clarify how much time I have to put my case together. My court/fine due date is the 27th of July. TIA

Default go to the ticket assassin website... it's all layed out... but to answer your question...

you must send in the full bail ammount, plead not guilty, and check the appropriate marks on the back of your courtsey notice at least 5 days before your ticket.

They will then send you the forms to fill out your plea, and you have 30 days from that point to make your plea and send it all back in.

I just did step one on thursday last week.

drop me email if you have more questions.

Default you can actually submit your paperwork at the appropriate court office up to the due date.

but otherwise you are correct. I did step early March and did step 2 early April. I'm still waiting to hear back.

Default Be careful!

Sometimes the courtesy notice will not indicate that you have the right to a trial by written declaration (dirty b'tards!). You then have to submit a letter requesting one.
